A free airplane ticket is the draw of frequent flyer points but since airlines are not in the business of giving away seats for free there are some things you need to be aware of. There are also some tricks to using your accumulated air miles so you can get the most benefit out of them. First off you need to choose a frequent flyer program and stick to that one program. Research the program and choose one that you will use most often. These programs also have partners including other airlines, retail stores, dining and car rental companies. Also research how many miles you receive for your flights and how many miles it takes to redeem a free ticket. Keep in mind that some airlines only give a percentage of the actual miles on discounted tickets so if you're a bargain hunter then pick a program that gives you one hundred percent of the miles on cheap tickets.
Investor group envisions thriving Macy's building
A group of Atlanta investors hopes to transform the bottom three floors of the now-vacant downtown Macy's department store into a thriving retail and restaurant space. The group, called the Davison's Downtown LLC, has the bottom three floors (including the grand street-level space complete with chandeliers) under contract. Those three floors total 185,000 square feet, which will be sold as a condo interest for $16.5 million. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of March. The group, which includes 18 investors (all from Atlanta with one exception) plans to spend up to $14 million more to revitalize the space. .

It stands for service-oriented architecture. Sometimes people talk about SOAs, even pronouncing it as a word. Oh great, another alphabet soup acronym to confuse us all. Give me the 35,000ft view. And why should I care? SOA actually does what it says on the tin. It's an IT architecture based around common platforms, protocols and reusable code. It can be used to support and connect services and business processes across an enterprise. Eh? Come again, in English this time please... SOA is essentially a collection of loosely coupled functions across the IT infrastructure - internal and external - that communicate with each other to provide a particular service or business process. And why's that good? The alternative is to stay with siloed, standalone applications that can't easily talk to each other.
