| Trader shot at, robbed of Rs 3.60 lakh
The law and order situation in the city has come under a scanner with four armed robbers shooting a trader in the abdomen and snatching Rs 3.60 lakh from him near the grain market, on a bylane of the Gill Road at noon today. The ADGP (Law and Order), Mr Chander Shekhar, rushed to the city in the afternoon to take stock of the situation. Already IG, Jalandhar Zone, Hardeep Singh Dhillon is camping in the city to trace a kidnapped youth, Vikramjit Singh. Even the DIG, Ludhiana Range, Mr Parag Jain, immediately reached the spot. The police said the trader, Balwinder Singh, a 30-year-old resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, was riding a scooter when the four assailants came from behind on two different two-wheelers, pumped a bullet in his stomach and sped away with the money stacked in the scooter dickey.
Owner faces assault charge after shooting at gas station
Simply because our government wants anyone here, whether criminal or not. Proof: illegal immigrants and illegal drugs! If it makes our government money, and they can continue to live lavishly, like the kings and nobles of England did, then they just don't care. The fact that nothing is going to happen with the charges against him, should outrage us AMERICANS! This is the mentality of foreigners, then add hatred to that equation and you have a deadly combination. But some, the bleeding hearts (as long as it ain't abortion issues) want to protect and shame us for caring!!!! What can we do? We can call our legislatures, president, the owners of the company (they can't shoot you through the phone) or mail a letter, nicely written with the points and NO threats. Let them know we want you OUT and you will never own another business in this country because we will follow you and make sure others knows what a threat you are to our country.
Only a fool would use a credit card to invest
Unlike a mutual fund, UIT share prices in the secondary market may be priced above or below the net asset value of the trust's actual holdings. When you buy shares of UITs, you typically pay a sales fee, or load, of around 4 or 5 percent. But you should note that many mutual funds carry no sales loads at all. My dumbest investment: Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. This means don't invest in things you don't know much about. I made a real estate investment in a marginal property and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It makes every mistake I ever made in the stock market appear trivial. Blind faith, hunches, and the assumption that there is a solution to every problem are what lead people into financial disasters.
Outrageous fortune for a novice sailor in Wisconsin's Apostle Islands
The boat is called Outrageous, and to my landlubber's eye it lives up to the name. It's like a 37-foot floating knife blade of metal and fiberglass. ''This is a boy's boat,'' my friend Bob Deeg says proudly. ``Built for speed. Women don't think it's comfortable enough.'' We're standing on the dock at Port Superior Marina in Bayfield, looking over the vessel that will be our home for the next three days as we sail the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. My companions Bob, a Sprint employee from Kansas City, and Chris Powell, an acupuncturist from Lake Tapawingo, Mo., have rented this boat before. They enlivened the drive up from Kansas City rhapsodizing about her speed and handling. ''What do you call two sailboats heading in the same direction?'' Chris asks.
Viafara back for Saints
Jhon Viafara should return for Southampton as life after George Burley begins with an FA Cup fourth-round clash against League Two Bury. Caretaker bosses John Gorman and Jason Dodd have the Colombian midfielder available after a one-match suspension. Youssef Safri is on African Nations Cup duty with Morocco while Saints still have a lengthy injury list. Claus Lundekvam, Nathan Dyer (both ankle), Marek Saganowski (groin), Chris Makin (hip), Cedric Baseya and Adam Lallana (both knee) are all still out. On-loan Aston Villa defender Stephen O'Halloran will be in contention for his debut, having trained for a week with his new team-mates. Alexander Ostlund got 80 minutes under his belt against Plymouth last week after a 10-week absence with a hamstring injury and should continue at right-back.
Woman found guilty of arson in 2001 University of Washington fire
U.S. attorneys say five people participated in the 2001 arson at the University of Washington's Center for Urban Horticulture: Briana Waters: Oakland, Calif., served as a lookout and helped rent a car for the team that set the fire. She was found guilty Thursday of two counts of arson, but jurors couldn't agree on a verdict for three other counts. She faces at least five years in prison for each arson count. Lacey Phillabaum: Spokane, pleaded guilty to participating in the arson in exchange for assisting in the prosecution of others involved, including Waters. She faces a prison sentence of three to five years. Jennifer Kolar: Seattle, admitted she used a knife to cut glass so others could get into an office at the horticulture center. She also assisted the government's prosecution and faces a sentence of five to seven years in prison.

Of course she has to go. And i reckon this time she'll be FORCED to go. I believe, her staying away, has made her lost the support from the wide majority of the Netball Fraternity, so what does that tell you, does she care for Netball Fiji?? nahh i really dont think so. I hope Netball Fiji's Executive Committee or Council would do the RIGHT thing. Vinaka!! 108 days & 8 hrs agoSuggest removalPermalink Kaleni of Waitakere City, (WestAuckland) says… Kia Ora, Why is this member of the NF council hiding behind her mothers skirt, reveal yourself, coward. I don't think that there is a need to interview Alice as it seems that you have already made up your mind on what you hope to do with FN management and President. Why didn't people like you put their hands up for president or management positions before-hand.

More snow came down and it was bitter cold last week, then the temperature went way up. Winter isn't over yet. It just seems natural to have a major storm around the middle of March. However, March did come in like a lion, so according to tradition, it should go out like a lamb. We'll just have to see what happens.
