A funeral service for Hawaiian entertainer Genoa Keawe will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Laie Hawaii North Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 55-110 Lanihuli St., Laie. Because of the large crowd expected and limited parking at the downtown mortuary, organizers suggest that people arrange to carpool, be dropped off or park elsewhere. Keawe, 89, died Monday at her home. The foremost female Hawaiian falsetto singer, she was a professional entertainer for more than 60 years. She is survived by sons Gary P. Keawe-Aiko, Eli Kaeo Paalua and Eric K. Keawe; hanai daughters Suzie Harrison and Roberta Silva; 40 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; and 81 great-great-grandchildren.

After spending Christmas with his family in Vittoria (Sicily), Italy, where he accumulated 2000 kilometres of training, 'Napo' is currently in Spain where he will pass the new year and build a base for the coming season. He is stationed in Gran Canaria of the Canary Islands with team-mates Fabio Baldato, Mauro Santambrogio and Daniele Righi, and their directeur sportif, Fabio Bontempi. "It is not a phase of preparation in which the presence of a directeur is detrimental," confirmed Bontempi to Tuttosport. "In the past years some of of our other riders have managed their own training in the Canaries over the New Year." The riders are averaging 120 kilometres a day, and will remain on the island until January 10. Napolitano will make his season debut with the sprint-friendly Tour of Qatar, January 27.
The Tuesday DiScussion: MySpace or MyFarce?
Because the ways in which people perceive this farce are completely detached from the reality... Let's begin with a few well known and seemingly obvious facts which appear to be overlooked: Everyone Wants to Be Famous The Reality TV fame, which fits with the average 30-second attention span, proves this. Having your own self-obsessed profile on the web and having more friends is the DIY equivalent of fame, with the debateably hawt t'n'a-midget, Tila Tequila (pictured) as the queen of internet celebrity, despite the fact, to my knowledge, she doesn't play stadiums or have a million selling album. She does however have atrocious music accessible as videos and her own clothing line?! However, inspired by Tila, it is nice to finally see Paris Hilton has figured out that with a songwriter she can turn her fame into a revenue stream.

Ford Motor Co. reported Friday its U.S. light vehicle sales fell 3.9 percent in January, even when compared with a weak performance a year ago. Ford said it sold 159,355 light vehicles for the month as it continued a strategy to wean itself from low-profit rental car and other fleet sales. That was down from January 2007 when the company sold 165,877 cars and trucks. Shares rose 21 cents to $6.85. Today's Top 10 OPEC WON'T PUMP MORE OIL OPEC decided against pumping more oil in a rebuff to Washington and a possible prelude to cuts as early as next month should the wounded U.S. economy sap demand for crude. Sebi lens on Ambani firms m-cap rise
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is checking whether there was a de facto market capitalisation race between the brothers and if this was the reason why shares of their companies rose vertically between March 2007 and January 2008. The regulator is said to be scrutinising its Integrated Market Surveillance System (IMSS) data to check for signs of possible concerted moves to lift share prices of a number of companies belonging to the two groups. These include Reliance Natural Resources and Reliance Communications from the Anil Ambani group, and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure and Reliance Industries belonging to the Mukesh Ambani group. Attempts by DNA Money to contact Sebi chairman Chandrashekhar Bhave for a comment on this was not successful.
